The ICA welcomes Dr. Joanne Kurt-Hilditch, Manager of Research and Development for the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board Executive Institute (ILETSBEI), as the Director of Special Projects. Dr. Kurt-Hilditch has worked in the field of community corrections, institutional corrections, substance abuse and mental health treatment, higher education, and law enforcement training for the past 23 years. She began her career as an adult probation officer in Austin, Texas and continued her work in institutional corrections with the Missouri Department of Corrections and non-profit organizations that provided prison and community-based treatment and halfway house services in the Kansas City, Missouri area. Dr. Kurt-Hilditch is currently responsible for grant writing, project management, development of curriculum and training, CALEA, and program evaluation at the ILETSB Executive Institute. She holds a BS and MS in Criminal Justice and a PhD in Public Policy and Public Administration. Dr. Kurt-Hilditch was involved with the Missouri Corrections Association as Secretary, Vice-President, President-Elect, and most recently, President, until her move to Macomb, Illinois in 2014. Her husband, Neil, is a long distance truck driver and they have two four-legged children, Keegan and Eli.
